PVI Insurance organizes intensive training on CMI insurance, proactively embracing new trends in the engineering insurance market

On 08 May 2026, PVI Insurance Corporation organized an intensive training program on Comprehensive Machinery Insurance (CMI), with knowledge-sharing sessions delivered by experts from VRS VietAdjusters Joint Stock Company.

The program was designed to update professional knowledge, enhance risk identification capabilities, and strengthen practical understanding of machinery and equipment losses in industrial production and power plant operations. Key training topics included equipment failure mechanisms, loss cause analysis, operational risk assessment, as well as important considerations in underwriting, technical management, and claims handling for CMI products.

The training session was attended by representatives from various member units across the PVI Insurance system, particularly underwriting, technical management, loss adjusting, and claims teams. Beyond product knowledge sharing, the program also helped strengthen coordination among technical management, loss adjusting, and claims functions, thereby promoting a more consistent, specialized, and practice-oriented approach to risk management for industrial clients.

In recent years, the engineering insurance market has witnessed a gradual shift from traditional machinery insurance products toward the CMI model, which offers broader and more flexible coverage. This trend is increasingly aligned with the characteristics of modern industrial facilities, where automation levels are rising and production activities are becoming more dependent on machinery and equipment systems. Accordingly, clients’ needs are no longer limited to physical damage coverage, but have expanded to include business interruption arising from physical loss or damage, operational continuity, and post-incident recovery capability.

As a leading insurer in Vietnam’s industrial and energy insurance markets, PVI Insurance recognizes the importance of proactively anticipating this market transition. Strengthening technical expertise, developing a team with in-depth understanding of machinery and equipment risks, and enhancing collaboration with technical experts are considered essential foundations for the effective development of specialized engineering insurance products.

Speaking at the program, Ms. Vu Thi Kim Thanh, Head of Insurance Technical Management Division at PVI Insurance, emphasized: “The development of specialized engineering insurance products, including CMI, is one of PVI Insurance’s key strategic directions in the coming period. To effectively develop this product line, in addition to market development capabilities, the core requirement is the ability to properly manage risks, thereby designing an appropriate risk distribution program. Strengthening intensive training and engagement with technical experts will serve as an important foundation for PVI Insurance to continue maintaining its leading position in Vietnam’s engineering insurance market.”

Going forward, PVI Insurance will continue to implement intensive training programs by product group and key industry sector, while further promoting practical exchanges with loss adjusting partners, reinsurers, and technical experts both in Vietnam and overseas. These initiatives form part of PVI Insurance’s ongoing efforts to enhance risk management capabilities, improve service quality, and strengthen its competitiveness in the market.
