PVI Insurance accompanies policy refinement and promotes agricultural insurance development for the 2026–2030 period

On April 7, 2026, at Hanoi Club, the seminar titled “Agricultural Insurance Associated with Risk Management for Agricultural Value Chains and Vietnam’s Orientation for 2026–2030” was held with the participation of regulators, experts, insurance enterprises—including PVI Insurance—and stakeholders across the agricultural ecosystem. The program focused on key topics such as the practical implementation of agricultural insurance, policy recommendations for 2026–2030, solutions for the draft amendment of Decree No. 58/2018/NĐ-CP, as well as the role of financial instruments in managing risks within agricultural value chains.

The seminar “Agricultural Insurance Associated with Risk Management for Agricultural Value Chains and Vietnam’s Orientation for 2026–2030” took place on April 7

At the seminar, PVI Insurance clearly demonstrated its sense of responsibility and its role as a partner to regulators, local authorities, and farmers in promoting the development of agricultural insurance in a practical, feasible, and sustainable manner. This was not only an opportunity for the company to share insights from real-world implementation, but also a platform to contribute recommendations toward improving policy mechanisms, thereby laying the groundwork for a more effective agricultural insurance market in the coming years.

From market realities, agricultural insurance is increasingly recognized as an important tool for risk management, helping to minimize production losses while enhancing quality, strengthening value chain linkages, and attracting investment. However, implementation still faces multiple challenges, including a lack of synchronized data, insurance products that are not fully aligned with actual needs, and limited participation from farmers.

At the seminar, Ms. Vũ Thị Kim Thanh, Head of Insurance Operations Management Division at PVI Insurance Corporation, shared insights

With the objective of contributing to policy refinement, Ms. Vũ Thị Kim Thanh—representing PVI Insurance—highlighted several challenges faced by insurers in providing feedback on the draft amendment of Decree No. 58/2018/NĐ-CP. This is a significant issue that requires further study and resolution to improve mechanisms for claim payments and premium subsidies in agricultural insurance, thereby enabling insurers to confidently implement and expand coverage to farmers.

Through its participation in the seminar, PVI Insurance reaffirmed its role as an insurance provider committed to supporting sustainable agricultural development, contributing to policy improvement, and expanding access to insurance for farmers. This also serves as a foundation for PVI Insurance to continue collaborating with stakeholders to position agricultural insurance as a practical financial safeguard for farmers, cooperatives, and enterprises within the agricultural value chain.
