On the afternoon of April 5, the Bell 505 helicopter coded VN-8650 taking off from Tuan Chau Island in Ha Long city, Quang Ninh province, got into an accident that killed four passengers and one pilot.

The consortium of three domestic insurance firms, including PVI Insurance Corporation (PVI Insurance), Bao Viet Insurance Corporation, and Military Insurance Company (MIC) provides the aviation insurance program for the aircrafts of Vietnam Helicopter Corporation (VNH) and PVI Insurance is the leading insurer of the consortium. 

The Insurance program includes the Aircraft Hull Insurance, Air Carrier Liability Insurance for Passengers and the third party, and Pilot Personal Accident Insurance.

As the position of the leading Insurer of the consortium, PVI Insurance was immediately present at the scene, actively coordinated with VNH and the relevant authorities to promptly solve the insurance issues which are in accordance with the provisions of the insurance contract and the current applicable law.
