PVI has passed Resolution No. 1005/QĐ-PVI, agreeing to buy 2,200,000 shares of PVST, or 22% of its total shares. After the purchase, PVI will become one of the biggest stockholders of PVST, owning 33% stake of PVST.

For the first six months of 2010, PVI has totaled VND 2,534 billion, increasing by more than 36% and accounting for 65% of the annual plan; pre-tax income reached VND 194.6 billion, increasing by 46.6% compared to the first six months of 2009 and achieved 59% of the annual plan. PVI has grown strongly in all financial targets with revenue from core insurance being VND 1,875 billion and from reinsurance VND 282 billion, increasing by 30% and 90% respectively.
